School Rules
1. Performance of prayers in Jama'at while the student is at Al-Jamia Al-Zahra and execution of other tenets of Islam must be adhered to strictly, at all times. All students should try their best in attending Al-Jamia Al-Zahra at times other than class times for prayers and gatherings.
2. After prayer students must not talk to anyone neither should they move around until they are told to do so.
3. The student can not leave the Mosque/school during teaching hours unless permission is granted by his/her class teach previously and the student should bring a letter to save inconvenience.
4. Absence from the school shall require a letter from the parent/guardian, in advance. The exact date of leaving the school and the return date must be specified as well as the students name, etc.
5. The females that attend the Mosque have uniform that must be worn everyday as Islam teaches that only knowledge will not do us all good if it is not practiced. As it is obvious that Islam teaches females should be covered from head to toe, our school had this rule of wearing a black coloured dress that is known as a "Burkha", with a white scarf that covers all the hair and is large enough to cover the shoulders.
6. Every student should wear a badge, which is especially made for our students of Al Jamia Al Zahra. The badge is available at the reception of the Madrassah at the cost of £1.
7. The male students do not have a specific dress to wear at the Madrassah but "Shalwaar Kameez" is recommended. However it is essential that male students wear a hat (no caps are allowed) as it is the way of Prophet Muhammad SAW and we must try our best to follow His footsteps in all possible ways. The hat should be clean, as all Muslims should keep their clothes and property clean as well as their body.
8. The times are very important, all students should come to Al Jamia Al Zahra on time everyday. This is very important as lessons start at the times set, no one is allowed to leave the classroom before the end of their lesson unless they have been given permission by their teacher. Pupils should try their best to avoid missing lessons, if a lesson is missed for any reason they should catch up any work that is missed on their return. In addition if students have to leave the lesson before the end of class the administration of Al Jamia Al Zahra must have a letter from the parent/guardian.
8. Paying the contribution: every student that has once been entered in the Madrassah as a student will need to contribute every week, of about £2, this must be paid by every student on the first study day commencing that week (normally Monday). It is recommended that the minimum contribution is paid on time, as we have problems when children pay at odd times.
9. If a child misses lesson(s) they must still contribute to the Madrassah in full even despite their absence.
10. We reserve the right to inspect students belongings at any time if we have believe that school rules might be being breached and/or illegal activities might be taking place. This will only be done regarding specific individuals and with that student present at the time.
Any student must not bring food to the school such as sweets whilst class time eating is not allowed unless of food brought for khataam which is handed out openly (after classes) under the authority of the teachers.
11. Audio-visual equipment (e.g. radio, TV, etc.) are not allowed in Al-Jamia Al-Zahra unless they are requested by any of the teachers at Al-Jamia Al-Zahra as a learning resource.
12. Mobile Phones are not allowed to be used in class and if a student is caught with a Mobile Phone it may be confiscated and parents may be asked to come and collect it.
13. Any book, magazine or other literature against Islam is not allowed to be spread/handed out on the premises of Al-Jamia Al-Zahra.
14. Students are required to keep there class rooms tidy and clean it if it is required.
15. Holidays will be given on special occasions, parents and students will be notified of events at the time.
16. If a child is absent for mote than two weeks without any notice their name will be removed from the register. If the same child wants to come back then they will have to re-admit. Re-admission can be done at the reception of Al-Jamia Al-Zahra.
17. Failure to adhere to rules and regulations of the school may result in reprimand and a detention will be given straight away. After repeated violation of school rules, the parent/guardian will be informed and after one further misdemeanour, the student will be expelled. In case of extraordinary misbehaviour, the student can be expelled immediately. Unnecessary behaviour during prayers will be taken under serious consideration. The disbelievers at the time of Prophet Muhammad SAW disrupted their prayers and we should not follow them and rather try our best to pray like Prophet Muhammad SAW did.
18. Additionally the school will ensure high quality standards are always met and we will ensure:

a. safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils at the school
b. to treat each pupil in a fair and sympathetic manner and put the interests and welfare of the pupils uppermost
c. to provide educational and recreational opportunities to all pupils regardless of background or ability.
